AccuStitch™
This stitching software allows you to stitch multiple DICOM images together into a single composite DICOM image as part of the same study. It accurately aligns the anatomy so you can measure distances and angles precisely.

Archive Formats
When selecting an archiving service, ask whether your DICOM images are converted to JPEG for storage. If compression takes place, you no longer have access to the study in the original format.

DICOM
Like ALL Eklin systems, the Mark III is fully compliant with DICOM 3.0 standards. Digital Imaging Communications in Media is a protocol developed in human medicine that permits standardized communication among various digital imaging devices (e.g., the acquisition device, the archive device, display device, etc.). Think of it as a language that all image modality units speak so they can communicate effectively. A DICOM Compliance Statement is very valuable because it assures you the system "speaks the language" and that storage and viewing will be seamless.

eFilm WorkStation™ Viewing Software
The world leader in DICOM viewing software in both the veterinary and human health care markets, eFilm can be used to view images from all DICOM modalities including DR, CR, CT MRI, ultrasound, nuclear scintigraphy, etc. Embedded Image Channel™ allows you, your colleagues and clients to view all images across the Internet, even with limited bandwidth. Add-on software is available for a variety of applications like 3D/4D reconstruction of CT images.

Grid Suppression™ Software
An Eklin exclusive, this software detects the presence of a grid on the DR panel and removes the lines from the final image. Just snap the Eklin Grid onto the DR panel and it automatically applies Grid Suppression. Presto!

Monitor Resolution
Spatial resolution of monitor is most commonly described in megapixels (MP). Personal computer monitors range from 0.75 to 2 MP. Medical-grade monitors range from 2 to 5 MP. Medical-grade gray scale monitors provide excellent image quality with increased resolution, bit depth, brightness and refresh rate. Determining the use of the monitor can help define your decision. Ideally, the monitor you use for diagnostic interpretation should be the best quality monitor possible, while monitors used for secondary/tertiary viewing (exam rooms, surgery suites, etc.) do not have the same performance requirements.

Open Format
The system is "open" to speaking to different software programs. For example, some PACS software is proprietary (i.e., closed) which means you have to purchase the same vendor's practice management software to achieve full integration.

PACS
Picture Archiving and Communication Systems is the PC/server and software component for storage, retrieval and viewing images. Many types of PACS are available - from the simplest that support one PC/laptop workstation to sophisticated systems that support networking via intranet/internet for secure unlimited viewing and also support multiple acquisition and display modalities.

RapidFire™ Scripting Software.
This software lets you take full advantage of the Mark III's incredible speed. You can automatically sprint through a pre-purchase exam. It also allows you to select which views and the order in which they are taken.
